How to Choose and Use the Filter in Electroplating

The role of the electroplating filter in the electroplating industry and its influence on the plating solution have been generally recognized in the industry, and the types have also developed from a single variety to multiple varieties to cope with various professional uses. Such as: special for electroless plating, special for chrome plating, degreasing before plating, activated carbon filtration, aluminum oxidation, passivation, phosphating, acid and alkali resistant pump, etc.

Because various plating types and work requirements are different, the requirements for the material and filtration form of the electroplating filter are different. Therefore, with the improvement of the electroplating process, higher requirements and motivation are also put forward for the electroplating auxiliary equipment enterprises.

1. The flow rate of the electroplating filter. The nominal flow rate (t/h) of the filter refers to the flow rate of the filter material flowing through the clean water without clogging. Because the actual flow rate of the filter is a variable, it cannot be marked; with the continuous accumulation of filter residue on the filter material, its resistance becomes larger, the pressure inside the machine becomes higher, and the actual flow rate becomes smaller. Therefore the actual flow is always lower than the nominal flow. When circulating filtration, the nominal flow rate should be 8-12 times the volume of the bath solution.

2.  Electroplating filtration accuracy. Filtration accuracy refers to the minimum particle size (μm) that the filter material of the filter can filter out solid particles. The actual precision is also a variable: when more filter residue accumulates on the filter element, the small pores on the upper part will be blocked more, and the filtration precision will gradually decrease. The factors that affect the actual filtration accuracy are as follows:

(1) The influence of the filter material. The same filter machine is replaced with filter materials of different precision, and the filtration precision is different. Its nominal accuracy ranges from 0.2μm-20μm. Replace with different filter elements, you can change the filtration accuracy.
